Joseph Wry died at his home in Osceola February 20, 1891. He was ill but a short time with some lung trouble. He has been a resident of Osceola for a number of years and leaves a wife and several children now all grown. He had made an honorable record as a soldier and his comrades buried him on Sunday at 2:00 P. M. after services at his home, with preaching by Rev. L. F. McCray. He enlisted in the army, July 1862, in Co. F., sixth Regiment, Iowa infantry Volunteers and was honorably discharged from the service July 16, 1864, making his term of service two years. So one by one the old soldiers are following their commanders beyond the shores of time.
