In December, 1874 she was united in marriage to William S. Wade. Five children came to grace their home, four boys and one girl. Their oldest boy (Pearl) died in 1886. James, Carrie, Thomas and John remain and were at the bedside of their mother when she passed away.

Mrs. Wade assumed the religious life in joining the Christian church at the Shelby school house in her eighteenth year and afterwards she changed her church relations to the Methodist Episcopal church at Green Bay and she was true to those religious obligations all her life.

Mrs. Wade was one of a family of eight children four of whom survive, namely: G. W. Gardner of Clarke county, Iowa; Mary Jane Williams, Kansas; C. L. Gardner of Peoria, Ill., and Sarah Garwood of Clarke county, Iowa. Most of her life was spent in Green Bay township at her home near the Hebron church. She died at the home of her son, James Wade, in Weldon, Iowa, February 15th at &:45 a. m., aged 58 years and 16 days.

Mrs. Wade’s life was consistent humbly exhibiting the spirit of her Master. She loved her home and family, was patient in her sickness and has left her impress upon all with whom she came in contact.
A loving and dutiful wife, kind mother and exemplary citizen and neighbor has passed into the beyond to await the coming of her loved ones. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.
