“W. S. Wade Passes Suddenly Away At Home Of Son At Hebron”

“A telephone message telling of the passing away of W. S. Wade at the home of his son Tom at Hebron Monday evening at about eight o’clock was a great shock to the relatives here. Mr. Wade came to Osceola Sunday to see his brother, James A. Wade, our fellow townsman who is seriously sick, but found his brother too ill to see any one but his nurse so returned home. He was not feeling very well when here Sunday. Monday his nephew, A. F. Wade, decided even though his father was very ill he wanted these two brothers to have a visit, so phoned his uncle about 9 o’clock in the morning to come over again. In the conversation he said he did not feel able for the trip but did not seem really ill until about 30 minutes before he passed away, heart trouble being the cause of his death. These two brothers have always been inseparable. As young men they enlisted together, served their country and in later years have enjoyed being together as only few brothers do. And now when the one is at death’s door it seems strange the other should go so quickly. Besides the son Tom with whom he lived there is two sons and one daughter, James and John and Mrs. Carrie Chaney, who resides near Weldon. His wife having preceded him to the great beyond about four years ago. There are scores of warm friends as well as many relatives who will mourn the passing of this grand and noble man. Funeral services were held at the home at two o’clock Wednesday.”
