SHIRLEY BALLINGER
Services were January 5 at Rising Sun Church of Christ for Shirley Ballinger, 49, of 140 Birch Blvd. Pleasant Hill, with burial in the Murray Cemetery. Mrs. Ballinger died of cancer January 2 at Des Moines General Hospital.

She was born in Barney and had lived in Pleasant Hill since 1972, working as a selfemployed child care center operator. She formerly lived in Des Moines, Murray and Germany and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband, Henry; two sons, Derek of Fort Smith, AR, and Shane of Des Moines; a daughter, Shanda Ballinger of Milligan College, TN; two brothers, Jerry Carter of Muldrow, OK, and Francis Carter of Des Moines; and two sisters, Sharon Matthews of Lewisville, TX, and Patricia Gann of Lavaca, AR.

Memorial contributions may be made to the nursery of her church.
