DONALD. A. WEST
Donald Asa West, 60, of Altoona, died of a heart attack Feb. 3, 1995, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services were held Feb. 7 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, with burial in Murray Cemetery.

Mr. West was born in Murray and had lived in the Des Moines area 30 years. He was an Army veteran and was employed by Northwest Erection Inc. He was a member of Des Moines Iron Workers and the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include three sons, Roger and William, both of Des Moines, and Randy of Bondurant: two daughters, Patricia Leach of Des Moines and Debra Hutchins of Hawaii; his mother, Minnie West of Osceola; a brother, Dean of Omaha; two sisters, Arlene Garvick of Sterling, Colo., and Verleen Harrell of Pascagoula, Miss.; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. West's longtime companion was Gloria Sheeler of Altoona.
