Lillian Maxine Saddoris Goodrich

Lillian Maxine Saddoris Goodrich was born December 22, 1912 in Clarke County, Iowa; the daughter of Charles Saddoris and Lena Marks Saddoris. She died October 6, 2002 at the Rose Vista Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 89.

She received her education in the Clarke county schools and taught in the rural schools starting in 1931. She later went to Chicago for five years pursuing a nursing career and worked for a doctor.

Lillian was united in marriage to Carl Goodrich on September 6, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri. Most of their lives were spent in Clarke County except for 12 years in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Three sons blessed this union, Kendall, Carmen and Randol.

She became a member of the Osceola Assembly of God Church in 1954 and accepted Jesus as savior. She enjoyed seeing the new facilities built.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 1975; her parents and parents-in-law; two brothers, Richard and Lyle Saddoris; one sister Juanita Mateer; a daughter-in-law Kathryn Goodrich and one great granddaughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Kendall and his wife Janet of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Carmen and his wife Sandra of Woodbine, Iowa and Randol and his wife Cynthia (Linder) also of Osceola now living in Elkhart, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, Lynn and Leana Goodrich and Wayne and Jessica Goodrich all of Woodbine, Iowa, Michelle Goodrich of Littleton, Colorado, Katrina Watson and her husband Val of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sonia Johnson and her husband Chris of Ames, Iowa, Stephanie Berglund and her husband Scott of Afton, Wyoming and Randi Goodrich of Elkhart, Iowa; four great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and twelve step-great grandchildren; sister Charlene Jones and her husband Clifford of Osceola as well as brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lillian took great joy in the activities of her family and watching the children grow through the school years, later education, getting married, having their families, and seeing them involved in church. It was also a great joy to watch the grand children grow up and see several married and to have fun with several of the great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
