“Obituary”
“Mrs. Evelyn Browder”

“Evelyn Stanley, daughter of Martha and Levi Stanley, was born near Smyrna, Iowa, on Feb. 6, 1875 and departed this life at the Colonial hospital in Rochester, Minn., on March 3, 1945, at the age of 70 years and 25 days.

The greater part of her life was spent in this community.

On Dec. 14, 1892 she was united in marriage to William Brower. To this union four children were born: Earl of Buffalo, New York, Mrs. Tressa Williamson of Hammond, Minn., Mrs. Bessie Plumley of Greer, South Carolina, and a son who died in infancy.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Austin Wallace of Weldon, two nieces and one nephew.

In November of 1911 the family moved to Rochester, Minn. on account of the failing health of the husband and father. Here she lovingly cared for him until his death in August of 1929.

She was a life long member of the Friends church and was faithful in attendance and support. She was a kind and loving mother and will be sadly missed in the home circle and by a host of friends.

The funeral was conducted by Anna Albery of the Friends church at the Lamoree funeral home in Osceola on the afternoon of March 8, with interment in the Friends cemetery at Smyrna.”
