“Alice Westfall Rites Oct. 15”

“Alice Westfall, 63, died Sunday, October 12, 1975, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 16, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Ivan C. Bys officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites.

Alice Westfall was born March 31, 1912, in Clarke County, Iowa, daughter of Charles Watson and Cora Belle O’Neall Watson. She attended schools in Clarke County prior to her marriage to Wilbur Weaklend in December of 1934. One daughter was born to this union. She was married to Eugene Westfall on February 11, 1946, in Troy, Kansas.

She was a member of Sarah Rebekah Lodge in Osceola and affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie Wright and husband, Russell of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Mike Wright and wife, Dawn of Indianola, and Mark and Dena Wright, at home; sister, Mrs. Glen Gladys Evans of Osceola; and two brothers Gerald Watson of Osceola and Bernard Watson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Hazel Watson.

Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.”
