“Rites At Weldon For L. S. Wallace”
“Native Of That Community Succumbed On Christmas Day In Sudden Illness; Burial In Maple Hill.

“Funeral services were held from the Weldon Methodist church Monday afternoon for Leland S. Wallace, 60, who died here Christmas day after a few minutes illness.

Officiating minister was Rev. Howard E. Adams and Miller Funeral service in charge. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery, Osceola.

Wallace was born in Clarke county, near Weldon, the third child of Frank C. and Siddie F. Wallace. He grew to maturity at the place of his birth.

At the time of his death he made his home with his sister, Ada Wallace of Weldon.

Surviving are one sister, Ada Wallace of Weldon; one brother, Dace Wallace of Turner, Oregon; an uncle, Fred Wallace of Weldon; an aunt , Mary Wallace of Des Moines; two sisters-in-law, Lois Wallace of Des Moines and Edith James of Weldon; and other relatives and friends.

His parents and four brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Music was furnished by a vocal quartet, Nancy Goodwin, Edna Meacham, Ray Krutsinger and Dan Price. Accompanist was Mrs. Goodwin.

Pallbearers included Robert Wickham, Art Landis, Carl LaFollette, Harry Pearcy, Virgil Simmerman and Leon James.”
