“Ada Wallace, 93, of Winterset Care Center North, died Monday, October 18. Service is pending at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola.”

“Ada Wallace, 93, Dies Oct. 18”

“Ada Wallace, 93, of the Winterset Care Center, died Monday, October 18, 1982. Graveside services were held Friday, October 22 at Hebron Cemetery in Clarke County. Edgar Wallace of Evanston, Illinois officiated the 2:00 p.m. rites.

Ada Wallace was born in rural Weldon to Frank C. Wallace and Siddie Coffman. She attended the Weldon School system and later worked for the telephone company in Weldon. She never married, spending her entire life in the Weldon area except for the past few years in the nursing homes.
Surviving relatives include her two nieces Debbie Foland and Sandra Rumley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Leland, Frankie, Lloyd, and Dace and two sisters, Mable and Consula.”

“Ada Wallace”

“Ada Wallace, daughter of Frank C. Wallace and Siddy F. Coffman Wallace was born near Weldon, Iowa April 9, 1889 and passed away at the Winterset Care Center on October 18, 1982 at the age of 93 years, six months and nine days.

She attended the Hebron country school in Clarke County and joined the Hebron Methodist Church at a young age on July1, 1906.

She worked as a Weldon Telephone operator for many years and also assisted her brother, Lloyd on the rural mail route out of Weldon as well as caring for her aging mother and brother, Leland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and four brothers. She was the last member of the family.

She leaves several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Lois Wallace and many friends to mourn her passing.

She was a woman of sterling character and was a good example for all to know.

Graveside service was held at Hebron Cemetery, Friday, October 22, Clarke County, Iowa. Edgar Wallace of Evanston, Illinois officiated the service at 2:00 p.m.”
