Alice Swabb died at the Decatur County Hospital at the age of 89 years, three months and 18 days. She was born in Mason City, Illinois on November 14, 1890, to Ella and Levi Donner. She was married to Guy G. Swabb in Afton, Iowa on December 21, 1910. To this union three children were born: Mansell, Faye and Betty.

Alice moved from Illinois to Afton, Iowa with her parents, brother and sister, at the age of 10. Upon completion of her education, she taught school in the Afton area. After her marriage she was a homemaker and seamstress, and in later years started a dress shop in Osceola.

She was affiliated with the Christian Church in Osceola.

Preceding her in death were her mother, father, sister Leah, brother Ray and husband, Guy. Surviving are son, Mansell and wife, Irene of Boulder City, Nevada; daughter, Faye Leeson and husband, Willis of Osceola; and daughter Betty Cipra of Des Moines as well as eight grand-children, and 18 great grand-children.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 1980 from Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Roy Ives officiating. Burial was in Murray Cemetery, Murray, Iowa
