Betty Lou Webb

Betty Lou Horton Webb, daughter of Harry and Velma Hoover Horton, was born in Clarke County on July 11, 1931 and died of a heart attack Aug. 11, 2002, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. She was 71.

She married John D. Webb on Oct. 17, 1950, and they became the parents of Dana Jeanne Webb. The couple lived in rural Osceola.

Mrs. Webb was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a 4-H leader and was active in her church, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osceola. She loved to sew and made her own wardrobe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, parents-in-law, Jaunita and Japtha Webb; brother-in-law, James Webb and a niece, Mary Jeanne Helms.

Mrs. Webb is survived by her husband; daughter, of Lees Summit, Mo.; twin grandsons, Chase and Shadoe Miller of Lees Summit; a sister Loraine Brimm and her husband, Richard Brimm, of Weldon; a brother, Robert Horton and his wife, Jan Horton, of St. Louis, Mo.; brother-in-law, Jerry Webb and his wife, Sharon Webb, of Osceola; three sisters-in-law, Anne Welker and her husband Dwayne Welker of Murray, Lola Carson and her husband, Everett Carson of Johnston and Wilma Helms and her husband, Larry Helms, of Old Fort, N.C.; as well as nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Webb were Aug. 14 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, the Rev. J.R. Wheeler of Osceola officiating. Organist Carol Wheeler accompanied soloist, Shellie Webb, who sang Amazing Grace and Jesus Lives, the Victory Is Won.

Casket bearers were Dan Brimm, Sam Brimm, James Brimm, Jeff Webb, Brandon Brimm and Mike Gasick. Honorary casket bearers were Mike Kelly, Gary Eckels, Tim Busby, Marvin Ellis Jr., Dwayne May and Dick Webb. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Osceola.
