Jennie's parents were James and Mary Mullen.

I located three obituaries for you to establish this fact.

According to Jennie (Mullen) Commerford's obituary, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mullen and was born in Wisconsin on June 12, 1860, and came with her parents to Iowa in 1865. She was a school teacher for five years. She was married on February 19, 1884, to Charles Commerford. The obituary also stated that her widowed father, James Mullen, lived with her at the time of her death.

The remains of the late James Mullen, who died at the home of his son [Andrew Mullen] in Butte, Mont., arrived here Sunday morning. The funeral was held from St. Joseph's church at 8 o'clock, and interment was in the parish cemetery. The body was accompanied here by Miss Nellie Mullen, daughter of deceased. Mr. Mullen was 71 years of age and until about three years ago had resided in this county since 1870. He lived for half of that time on a farm three miles southwest of town and afterward took up his residence in this city.
