Died from Natural Causes.
Persons residing near Saude have have{sic} been quite excited over an alleged murder case, wherein a Mr. Hansen was accused of the murder of his wife who passed away suddenly and without apparent cause a few days after childbirth. It was alleged that she was poisoned, and the remains were exhumed and the organs sent to Chicago for chemical analysis. No trace of poison was found, and the disposition of the case is given as follows in the New Hampton Tribune:
“Coroner Johnston of the Burg was in town yesterday and the jury, which had been empaneled to inquire into the cause of death of Mrs. Hansen of Jacksonville last January was called together to complete its work. The chemical analysis, which was ordered, revealed no traces of poisoning and as the presence of poison would have been necessary to warrant a verdict of murder, the jury could make no other report than death from natural causes. This investigation clears up a case which gossip had made to appear serious and public sentiment and justice demanded a thorough probing.”
