We grieve to chronicle the sad accident which befell one of our former boys of this place, Mr. Patrick Masterson, who was killed on the night of the 21st of September in Texas; as near as we can tell now, he was employed at work on or near the train where he met his untimely death. Mr. Masterson lived near this place until about ten years ago, leaving home and friends, he started for the southern coast, where he has been very well-to-do in the states of Alabama and Texas ever since. During his stay here he was held in high esteem by his fellow comrades. His death was a shock to his parents and relatives who have the sympathy of the entire community. His remains will be brought home for interment. X.Y.Z.
