T. Johnson Rites Wed. At Crane Creek
Thomas L. Johnson, 74, of rural New Hampton, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at St. Joseph Community Hospital. Rites for Mr. Johnson were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, from the Crane Creek Lutheran Church, Rev. David Stewart, pastor, officiated, Ole Sanderson, organist, accompanied Jeanette Nelson as she sang “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Rock of Ages.” Mrs. Olaf Johnson and Mrs. James Dahlen had charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were James Dahlen, John Dahlen, Thom Jerdee, Olaf Johnson, Walter Johnson and Carlyle Johnson. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Perry-Conway Funeral Service had charge of the arrangements.
He was born November 24, 1890 in Chickasaw County, the son of Lars and Anna Thompson Johnson. He attended rural schools in the area. On December 4, 1925, he married Ida Northness at the Crane Creek parsonage. He was engaged in farming in Chickasaw County and was a member of Crane Creek Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, one sister, Mrs. Tom (Alice) Thompson of New Hampton, and three brothers, Alfred and Carl of Lawler and Ed of New Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
