Ida Loos
Ida Loos, age 92, died Monday, May 9, at the home of her niece in Charles City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Bernard Oebser officiating. Edith Kolthoff will be organist and accompany those in attendance as they sing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Rock of Ages.” Interment will be at New Hampton Cemetery with Gene and Mark Dahlen, Jason Brincks, Dale Hinz, Brian Moudry and Lester Johnson serving as casket bearers. Ida Northness was born July 29, 1895 in Chickasaw County, the daughter of James and Gusta (Ethum) Northness. She married Tom L. Johnson Dec 4, 1924, and he died on May 23, 1965. She was later married to Bernard Loos October 23, 1976 and he died Jan 12, 1979. Mrs. Loos had resided on a farm north of New Hampton until retiring and making her home in New Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, four brothers, John Andrew, Theodore and Hans Northness, five sisters, Mrs. Otto (Jennie) Dahlen, Mrs. Nick (Rosie) Dahlen, Mrs. Joe (Carrie) Johnson, Mrs. Emil (Alma) Wollwage and Anna Northness. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
