Died In Charles City.

Lena M. Wood was born March 11, 1866, in Chicago, III., moved to Ashtown, 111.. when about two years of age, and to Butler county, Iowa, about a year later. In 1880 she moved to Ionia, Ia., where she lived until four years ago, when she moved to Charles City. On February 24, 1886, she was united in marriage to Charles Hammon, to which union two daughters were born, Jessie and Eva, now 13 and 12 years of age. Mrs. Hammon died November 3, 1900, after a two weeks' illness of typhoid fever. The funeral was held at the home, 703 Palmer street, Monday at 1:30 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. F. L. Banscom of Garner, who was a former pastor of the family at Ionia. — Charles City Herald.

Mrs. Hammon was an adopted daughter of Mr. James Wood, of Ionia and was an estimable woman. Her death will be regretted by a large circle of friends in this county.
