The Phillips Suicide at New Hampton.
The Courier gives these particulars of the suicide of Geo. F. Phillips, a druggist at New Hampton, briefly mentioned last week:—
For a long time the deceased had been in a peculiar condition of mind, and his friends were not unmindful of the fact that this deep brooding melancholy, which at times seemed to have him in complete control, might terminate fatally and even tragically as it was. His imagination had become morbid, and he was possessed by the strange delusion that his burdens were increasing all the time, and that he had been chosen to bear the burdens and sorrows of a large number of people. On Sunday he was thirty-seven years old and had a birthday party, to which were invited his own relatives and his wife’s.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1858 and died Dec. 2, 1895. He is buried in the New Hampton Cemetery.
