NEW HAMPTON - Lillian M. Tupy, 80, New Hampton, died Monday, June 26 of natural causes at Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Hampton with Rev. Carl Schmitt presiding. Sr. Lorraine Loecher was organist and accompanied the church choir. Jennifer Baltes was cantor. Lector was Florence Throndson and Kurt and Heidi Bakula were mass servers. Lillian's children and grandchildren placed the pall and presented the offertory gifts

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton, with Dick, Loras, John and David Taylor, Kenneth Foreman and Alan Wenthold serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 4-8 .m. Wednesday, June 28 at the t. Joseph Church Gathering Center with a 4:30 p.m. Catholic Daughters Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture Service. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lillian M. Tupy was born July 14, 1919 at Garner, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Shilney) Formanek. She married Jerome Tupy on Feb. 14, 1939 at Duncan. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Lawler area until moving to New Hampton in 1975. She was then employed as a seamstress by Sara Lee until her retirement. Lillian was a member of St. Joseph Church and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, bowling and cards.

Surviving are her husband, Jerome; two daughters, Marjorie (Robert) Harris and Paulette Foreman, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Mary Nedved; six brothers, Louis, Joseph, Frank, James, George and Edward Formanek.
