Former Alta Vista Native and Business Woman Died

Dorothy Sullivan, 84, St. Paul, MN died Dec. 27, 1999. Funeral services were held in St. Paul, MN with graveside services held Tuesday, Jan. 4 with Rev. Roger Rethamel officiating at Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista.

Dorothy Vick Sullivan was born in Alta Vista in 1915, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Vick. She attended the parochial grade school and graduated from St. William High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Sullivan, Elma in November of 1937 at St. Bernard's Church. Dorothy and her husband operated the Sullivan Tavern in Alta Vista from 1936 to 1941. After selling the business they moved to Granger, MN and operated a tavern there.

Mr. Sullivan passed away in May, 1981 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Alta Vista. Mrs. Sullivan sold the business in October, 1981 and moved to St. Paul, MN where she resided until her death.
