FREDERICKSBURG -Kenneth Keith Sullivan, 91, died at his home in Fredericksburg on Sunday, Sept. 3,2000.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Hillcrest Baptist & Brethren Church in Fredericksburg with Pastor Kenneth Adderly officiating. Brenda Speicher was organist and Myrna Moore was vocalist. Hymn selections included "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "Beyond the Sunset" and "O That Will Be Glory".
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, with Keith Suhr, Gary Schulz, Richard Johnson, Kiel Harris, Bruce Steege and Richard Schmadeke as casket bearers.
Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Kenneth was born July 9, 1909 at Fredericksburg, die son of Charles and Maud (Drew) Sullivan. He grew up on the farm, attended rural schools through the eighth grade and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1928. Kenneth farmed and helped his father with veterinary work, continuing this practice for a time after his father died. During this time he was also employed for road grading of Highway 18 when it was being paved. Kenneth and his mother moved into town, and he worked as a mechanic for Knutson and Koerth John Deere implement business. He married Ceola Fisher Pahl on Feb. 27,1950. In 1951 Kenneth and Harold Lehman purchased the' John Deere business and operated it about 20 years. After selling the shop, he was employed by the Fredericksburg Co-op until retiring. Kenneth enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and traveling. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist & Brethren Church, Commercial Club and Sportsman's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Ceola; two daughters, Dixie (Gregg) Wakeman, Fredericksburg, Angela (George) Baker, Arlington Heights, IL; four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Ruth in infancy, Vera and Marie; two brothers, Glen and Neil.
