FREDERICKSBURG

Frank M. Rochford, 94, Des Moines, formerly of the Fredericksburg area, died Monday, April 24 in Des Moines of natural causes.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Carl Schmitt and Msgr. Gerald Stessman, Des Moines, p con-celebrating. Coila Huffman was organist and Jack Trusty was vocalist. The pall was placed on the casket by nis three children. Offertory gifts were presented by Merle anaBemice Rochford.

Interment was in Calvary Cemeteiy, New Hampton, witn Michael Hoffman, Patrick Hoffman, Gregory Hoffman,| Natasha Rocnford, Jessica Rochford and Dennis Hoffman as pallbearers.

Visitation was 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 7 p.m. Knight^ of Columbus Rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Parish Scripture Service and also an hour prior to services at the church.

Frank was born in rural Fredericksburg on Oct. 9, 1905, the son of William and Mary (Brannon) Rochford. He attended rural school near Fredericksburg and Lawler High School. On June 5,1945, he married Olive Servoss at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Hampton. The couple lived and farmed south of Fredericksburg. After Olive's death in 1982, Frank remained on the farm until 1994 and lived for two years in New Hampton before going to Des Moines to be near his daughter. Frank has been a Farm Bureau member for 58 years, a longtime member of the Fredericksburg Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Church. He has been president of a Fire Safety District, a School Board Director, County Trustee for 35 years and on the Election Board for 30 years. Frank enjoyed his family, especially attending activities of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Charles (Lynette) Rochford, Oelwein; two daughters, Frances Rochford, Des Moines, Jean (Dennis) Hoffman, Estherville; five grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Rochford and Leona Rochford, New Hampton, Mabel (Charles) Owens, Northridge, CA; a sister-in-law, Addie Rochford, Van Neys, CA.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Olive on Feb. 2, 1982; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rochford in infancy; a grandson, Andrew Hoffman; two sisters, Evelyn Rochford and Mary McCormick; one brother, Eugene Rochford.
