NEW HAMPTON - Suzanne Marie Morrissey, 50, died Friday, May 5 at Allen Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in . New Hampton with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating the mass. The pall was placed on the casket by her husband and sister. Lectors for the service were Bridget and Matthew Morrissey. The offertory gifts were presented by her four children.
Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton, with Michael Tiedeck, Dr. John Andersen, Jeff Leach, Thomas Eachus, Richard Grote and Ray Garris as pallbearers.
Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 8 at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, where there was a 7 p.m. Parish Scripture Service. Further visitation was held an hour prior to the service at. the church.
Suzanne was born Oct. 14, 1949 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Maurice and Catherine (Lamore) Germain. She graduated from Dominican High School in Detroit.
On May 29,1970 she married Vincent Morrissey in Detroit. The couple initially lived two years in Detroit followed by 14 years in Cadillac, MI. In 1986 the couple moved to New Hampton. Prior to her illness, Suzanne worked for the Iowa Drivers License Bureau. Suzanne enjoyed cross stitching, her flower garden and gourmet cooking. Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Cnurch and the Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent Morrissey, New Hampton; one daughter, Bridget Morrissey; three sons, MattHew, Mark and Patrick Morrissey; one sister, Yvonne Hines, Florida; and one aunt, Dorothy Tiedeck, Michigan.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
