NASHUA - Ferdinand Mohring, 77, was found dead Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000 at his farm home of injuries suffered during an attack by a bull.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16 at Ionia Funeral Home, Ionia with Reverend Mark A. Anderson and Reverend Richard Trost presiding. Marie Siglin was organist.
Interment was in New Hampton Cemetery with Dan Janssen, Bill Remley, Herb Roethler, Jesse Rose, Scott Sheldon and Merle Usher as casket bearers and Carmen Linda Conklin, Gerald Fisher, Wanda Orrie, Peggy Riggle and Don Zwanziger as honorary casket bearers.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at the Ionia Funeral Home.
Ferdinand Mohring was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Rockford, the son of Herman and Augusta (Bohr) Mohring. Ferdinand anD his family lived south of Ionia for two years, then Lawler for seven years, Williamstown, then north of Ionia for 23 years and then at his present home north of Nashua. Ferdinand along with his brothers farmed their entire lives and attended St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City. Ferdinand enjoyed housekeeping and cooking.
Survivors include one brother, Carl, Nashua and one sister, Clara Rentz, Algona.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Alvin and Daniel.
