ALTA VISTA- Darron W. Kobliska, 17, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton as a result of a hunting accident.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Alta Vista with Reverend Roger R. Rethamel officiating. Jolene Frantzen will be the organist and will accompany the St. Bernard Resurrection Choir singing "Here I Am Lord", "The Beatitudes", "One Bread, One Body", "On Eagle's Wings" and "Be Not Afraid". The lector will be Wanda Folkers. Mass servers will be Justin Gansen, Mark Folkers and Andy Folkers. Gift bearers will be Dar-ron's godparents, Joan Kobliska and Tocfd Hockenson. Eucharistic ministers will be Dick White, Sue Mahoney and Tom Recker. Darron's family will place the pall.

Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Alta Vista with Ross Kellogg, Mitch Kellogg, David Tiemessen, Josh Pesek, Jared Hauser, Jon Stolz, P.J. Fogarty and Nick Hruska as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the New Hampton High School Base-ball, Football, Wrestling and Golf Teams.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at Conway Funeral Home, New Hampton, where there will be a 3 p.m. Rosary and an 8 p.m. Scripture service. Further visitation will be an hour prior to services at the church.

Darron W. Kobliska was born April 8, 1983 in Osage, the son of Clarence and Vickey (Hockenson) Kobliska. He was baptized, received his First Communion and was confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Alta Vista. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School through eighth grade. During his junior nigh years, Darron took part in school lavs and played baseball, asketball and football. He then attended New Hampton High School where he was on the baseball, football, golf and wrestling teams. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, snow boarding, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially Alicia Reams, who was a very special part of his life. He was a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church, the Lettermen's Club and had been a member of the 4-H Club.

Survivors include his parents, Clarence and Vickey Kobliska, Alta Vista; one brother, Roger Kobliska, Alta Vista; two half-brothers, Bobby and Rick Kobliska, Alta Vista; maternal grandparents, Lois and Harry Hockenson, Plymouth and paternal grandmother, Rita Kobliska, Alta Vista.

Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather, Edward Kobliska.
