WAUCOMA - Harriet C. Koehler, 87, formerly of Waucoma, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000 at her home in Clark-Lindsey Village, Urbana, IL.

Memorial services were held Sept. 26 in Champaign, IL with Mittendorf-Calvert Funeral Home of Champaign in charge of arrangements.

Inurnment was in the Waucoma Cemetery.

Harriet was born April 15, 1913 in Waucoma, the daughter of Charles H. and Hattie (Holmes) Cochran. She was a 1930 graduate of Waucoma High School and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1938 with a Master of Arts degree in music. She taught in the Clio, MI School System. On Sept. 14, 1940, Harriet married James S. Koehler in West Union. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign, the Mu Phi Epsilon Sorority and the Tuesday Morning Musical Group. Harriet greatly enjoyed music and accompanied many young vocalists and musicians in the greater Champaign area.

Surviving are her husband, James; one son, Thomas (Margie) Koehler, Foosland, IL; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a daughter, Pamela.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign or the Empty Tomb.
