Daniel Bate Dead

Daniel Bate, of 1096 Court street, a prominent and longtime resident of this county, passed away at the family home in this city at about 9 o'clock Thursday evening, after an illness caused by creeping paralysis, of about five years duration. In 1892 the Bate family moved nearer Nashua and there remained until 1904 when the farm was sold and residence taken up in this city.

The deceased is survived by his wife, who has been very devoted to him through every hour of the five years of his illness, and seven children. The names of his children, in order of their ages are as follows: William, a teacher in Idaho; Daniel, a student in the University of Iowa at Iowa City; Edmund H., a prominent employe of the Hart-Parr Co., in this city; a teacher it the public schools of Sanborn, N. Dak.; Gladys, at home, an instructor of art in Charles City College; Helen, a teacher in the public schools of Hope, N. Dak.; and John, at home, a student in the high school.
