Benjamin Frazee, one of the pioneer residents of Chickasaw county. passed away at his home near Bassett, Sunday, Feb. 8, after an illness of only a few days at the ripe age of 85 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Benjamin Frazee was born in Perry county, Ohio, June 11, 1828. He lived for a time near Frankfort, Ind., and in 1854, at the age of 26 years be came to this county, locating near Bassett and resided here continuously until the time of his death.

He was married to Miss Mary Michael, Dec. 1864, who with two sons survive him. One brother, Hon. John Frazee, and two sisters, Mrs. Libbie Jerrid and Mrs. Nancy Campbell also survive him.

The funeral was held from the church in Bassett Wednesday afternoon and burial was at Rowley Hill cemetery.
