FREDERICKSBURG - Belva May Hahn, 85, formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI on Thursday, Feb. 17.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Nan Tomlinson and Rev. Merelyn Snider officiating. Pianist was Janice Ed-son and Richard Fergeson was vocalist.
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery with Gene Nolte, Dan Sternat, Eldon Sternat, Dale Kleiss, Doug Kleiss and Mark Wendland as casket bearers.
Belva May Hahn was born on May 29,1914 in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Arley and Ora (Kennedy) Crabtree. Belva attended country schools through the eighth grade.
She was united in marriage to Clarence Hahn on Jan. 11, 1934 in Preston, MN. To this union three children were born. Belva and Clarence lived on their farm two miles west, one mile north and one half mile west of Fredericksburg all their married lives.
Belva was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was awarded many blue ribbons exhibiting at various flower shows throughout the area. She was employed at Meinerz Creamery in Fredericksburg for ten years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Williamstown for many years. Clarence passed away in 1979 and Belva continued to live on the farm until she moved to an apartment at the Senior Citizen Housing Unit in Fredericksburg in 1997. In 1998 she moved to Lake Village Senior Citizen Housing in Phillips, WI.
Survivors include her son, Arley Hahn, Tripoli; her daughter, Laurely Parkinson, Phillips, WI; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Max Crabtree, Fredericksburg.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Belva Lou Hahn, in infancy; one brother, Archie Crabtree; and one sister, Della Marie Snider.
