ALTA VISTA ~ Jerry A. Felder, 70, died Friday, Jan. 2i of kidney failure at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista with Rev. Roger R. Rethamel, Rev. Vince Rosonke and Rev. Steve Rosonke presiding. Pall placers and gift bearers were Jerry's granddaughters, Erika, Toni Jo and Annie Felder. LaVerne Cerwinske was lector. Organist Sara Recker accompanied tne St. Bernard's Men's Choir. Vocalists were Ed Crawford and Jean Cerwinske.
Inurnment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Alta Vista with Robert Hilsman, Kelly Mishak, Jeff Elenz, Jim Peters, Don Recker and Vince Nuebel serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers were Paul Troyna, Brad Schwickerath, Travis Brummond, Russ Hilsman, Scott Felder, David H. Roethler, Craig Miller and James Keller.
Visitation was held after 4 .m. on Monday, Jan. 24 at Conway uneral Home in Elma where there was a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture Service and also for an hour before services at the church.
Jerry A. Felder was born May 12, 1929 at Alta Vista, the son of August and Anna (Delsing) Felder. He attended St. Williams School and was married Sept. 21, 1950 at St. Bernard's Church to Delores Mishak. They resided in Alta Vista all their married life. Jerry was a member of St. Bernards Church and of the Men's Choir. He had served as chief for the Alta Vista Fire Department and had been a city councilman. He was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Jerry owned and operated Felder Livestock and Trucking and in 1984 with his son Mike founded Southside Truck Parts. He retired in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; one son, Mike (Katie) Felder, Alta Vista; one daughter, Linda (Jeff) Larson, Fort Worth, TX; three granddaughters, Erika, Toni Jo and Annie Felder; three sisters, Madonna Recker, Alta Vista, Helen -Ray, Mesa, AZ and Rita Ann Nuebel, Dunkerton; and three brothers, Gene, Prairie du Chien, WI, Ray, New Hampton and Bernard, Alta Vista.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Irma Heying and Irene Felder.
