WILLIAMS - William R. Dagit, 84, Williams and formerly from the New Hampton area, died Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the United Methodist Church, Williams, with Rev. Darwin Moore officiating.

Burial was in the Williams Cemetery at Williams.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at the United Methodist Church. Surls Funeral Home, Williams, was in charge of arrangements.

William R. Dagit was born March 3,1915 in Jefferson, the son of Raymond and Alma (Arnold) Dagit. He attended Peyton-Churdan School. On June 1, 1938 he married Caroline Irene Duden at Williams. He was a retired farmer. William had been involved with 4-H, the Big Four Chickasaw County Fair at Nashua and the Dagit family was named Chickasaw County Farm Family of the Year. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Williams.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Jeanne and Gary Roths, Dublin, OH, Jane and John Buxton, Spearfish, SD; a son and his wife, James and Karen Dagit, New Hampton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Edith Nerland and Alice Keane, Williams, Leona Norton, Seattle, WA, Avis Schorer, Bloomington, MN, Phyllis Olson, Ellsworth, Elsie Miller, LaGrange, IL, Mary Lapp, Marietta, GA.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Caroline; three brothers, Arnold, Dorian and Lowell Dagit.
