FREDERICKSBURG -- Marlene J. Culbertson, 67, New Hampton and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Monday afternoon, April 3 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN of natural causes.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, April 7 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg.
Burial will be in Fairbank Cemetery, Fairbank.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Marlene was born Nov. 28, 1932 near Orin in Bremer County, the daughter of John and Sophie (Reese) Etgeton. She graduated in 1949 from Fairbank. High School and received a degree in education from Upper
Iowa University, Fayette. She married Keitn Culbertson. Marlene was employed by the Fredericksburg Community Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include one daughter, Gayle Culbertson, Des Moines; one daughter-in-law, Janet Hackman, New Hampton; two grandsons; two brothers, Robert Etgeton, LaBell, FL and Lyle Etgeton, Fairbank; two sisters, Alice Weaver, Fairbank and Darlis Barta, New Hampton.
Preceding her m death were her husband, Keith Culbertson in 1961; a daughter, Denice Ann Culbertson in 1978; a son, John Lee Culbertson in 1986; her parents.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the Upham Memorial Library, both in Fredericksburg.
