Bonnie Jean Blanchard, 76

DAVENPORT - Bonnie Jean Blanchard, 76, Davenport, formerly of Nashua, died Tuesday, Feb. 29.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at the Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua.

Visitation was from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at the funeral home.

Bonnie Jean Peterson was born July 21, 1923 in Nashua, the daughter of Bartlett and Sarah (Hicks) Peterson. $he married Kenneth E. Blanchard on June 25, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. Mrs. Blanchard assisted her husband who was the Circulation Manager for the Des Moines Register for 41 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport and enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Thomas Donahoe, Davenport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Marcia Blanchard, Independence, MO and Gary and Alfie Blanchard, Newton, MA; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; two sisters, Lillian Jacobs, Charles City; Marguerite Curtis, Charles City.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Kenneth on July 18,1993.,

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Davenport.
