MORTUARY
MANGAN—At his home in Utica township, July 30, 1896, Thomas Mangan, aged 66 years.

Thomas Mangan was amount the oldest settlers of Chickasaw county, coming to Utica township in an early day and enduring all the hardships incident to pioneer life. He was a life-long democrat and has been a familiar figure at nearly every democratic convention in this county for years. For more than a year his declining health has prevented him from mingling with his old friends. Until recently, however, his condition was not regarded as serious. A few weeks ago he began to fail rapidly and Thursday the end came. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his death. The funeral occurred Saturday at the Catholic church in Lawler, of which he was a faithful and devoted member. A large number of friends attended to pay their last respects to his memory.

The TRIBUNE regrets that the data for a more extended notice could not be obtained.
