Felix Mangan Killed by Cars
Felix A. Mangan, son of the late Patrick Mangan of Lawler, was killed by the cars in Chicago last Wednesday. He was engaged in his work of superintending track elevation for the Burlington railway and some cars were backed down upon him which he did not observe until too late. He lived for some hours. The funeral was held Friday last from the home of his sister, at 320 Jackson Boulevard, to St. Patrick’s church, and interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery.
Deceased was a first cousin of Messrs. John and James Mangan of New Hampton. He has made frequent visits here and was known and respected by many. He was a self-made man, and won an enviable position, in construction work of all kinds of railways. A few years ago he was selected to go to Seattle, Wash., and put in the terminals for one of the big roads entering that city.
His death at the age of 37, with so much hope in his life, is deeply deplored by all who knew him.
