Dubuque Telegraph Herald and Times Journal, October 14, 1930

New Hampton, Iowa, Oct. 14 – SPECIAL: Rites were held for Mrs. John Kenney, who died Saturday at her home on East Prospect Street, New Hampton, to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 9 o’clock Monday morning. Very Rev. T. J. Dowling, her pastor, officiated and was assisted by Father J. R. Bowen of Strawberry Point and Father John O’Donnell of Lawler, Iowa.

Mrs. Bridget Burns Kenney was born in Grandville, Wis., March 1, 1845 and grew up in that community. She was married at Grandville on April 1, 1875, and moved to Chickasaw County immediately where she resided on a farm near Fredericksburg, later east of New Hampton and 22 years ago moved to her present home here. Mr. Kenney died last Nov. 5.

Mrs. Kenney is survived by six children; Mrs. B. F. Finnegan, Frazee, Minn.; Mrs. Patrick Griffen, east of New Hampton; C. F. Kenney, Minneapolis; Nora, Nellie and Marie who have lived with their mother.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton.
