MERRITT CURRIER
Nashua, Iowa – Merritt Currier passed away at his home in Hollywood, California, July 22, at the age of 88.
Mr. Currier was one of the early pioneer settlers of this community and was much respected by everyone.
Deceased was born in western New York, in the town of Sardina, Dec. 25, 1841. When six years of age his parents moved to Illinois. At the age of 24 he moved to this community and at the age of 26 was married to Caroline B. Smith of Bradford. Most of his life was then spent on the farm in Bremer County until he moved to California.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clara Evald, and his wife, besides a sister, Mrs. Hanks, who resides at Des Moines, and two grandsons Leslie and Ronald and Currier, who live in California. The daughter-in-law and her youngest son reside in Little Rock California and two nieces in Hollywood.
Funeral services were held at Hollywood and the body is resting at a vault there but will be brought here later to be buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
