NEW HAMPTON - Russell A. Huebner, 82, of New Hampton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at home.

He was born March 31, 1926, in Westgate, son of Henry and Serena Koelling Huebner.

He farmed with his father until serving in the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1952. He later was employed at Rath Packing Plant, Waterloo, for 20 years, retiring in 1980.

Survived by five sisters, Elfrieda Neuendorf of Fredericksburg, Marian Campbell of Denver, Darlys Vinch and Doris (Richard) Wass, both of Mentor, Ohio, and Hazel (Lew) Schrandt of Farmersburg.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Angus and Viola Huebner; and two brothers, Henry Jr. and Roger.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Fredericksburg. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
