ST. LUCAS - Bernadine M. Tieskotter, 90, of Little Turkey, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis.

She was born Aug. 24, 1924, on the family farm near St. Lucas, daughter of Herbert and Frances Rasing Tillman. On Oct. 10, 1945, she married Andrew Tieskotter at St. Luke’s Church. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2008.

Before her marriage Bernie worked as a nurses aid in different hospitals and also at John Deere. The couple initially farmed north of Protivin until 1964, moving to Little Turkey and continuing farming there. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey.

Survived by six sons, Richard (Marlene) and Dennis (Kathy), both of Lawler, Mark (Diane) of Cresco, Roy of New Hampton, Dan of Harpers Ferry and Gerald of Little Turkey; three daughters, Mary (Joe) Roybal of Platteville, Colo., Martha (Marvin) Andera of Cresco and Maxine (Robert) Friedman of St. Ansgar; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Jovina (Robert) Lechtenberg of Lawler; a sister-in-law, Marion Knutson of New Hampton; and a brother-in-law, Jack Meissen of New Hampton.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son, David; a daughter, Marlene Tieskotter; three grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Lechtenberg, Adella Tieskotter and Regina Tieskotter; and a brother, Leonard Tillman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home, New Hampton, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary. Visitation continues from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Andrew and Bernadine Agricultural Scholarship Fund.
