NASHUA - Dorothy Mae Johnson, 92, of Nashua, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Cedar Health, Charles City.

She was born Feb. 22, 1916, east of Nashua, daughter of Ivan B. and Frances P. Smith Riggs. She married Mervin Kenneth Johnson on Aug. 11, 1934, at the Nashua Methodist Church parsonage. He died March 19, 1991.

She graduated from Nashua High School in 1934. Mrs. Johnson farmed with her husband for 15 years and then they moved to Leech Lake area and managed a resort there from 1957 to 1978. They then moved to Hackinsack, Minn., where she was a nurse's aide at a nursing home until 1980.

Survived by a daughter, Marlys Fohlin of Walker, Minn.; a sister, Leona Carter of Nashua; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Kenneth; a brother, William Riggs; and a sister, Ethel Lantz.
