NASHUA - Edna Vi Johnson Babcock, 66, of Corwith, formerly of Nashua, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, Fort Dodge,

She was born April 18, 1939, on the family farm in Bassett, daughter of Ralph and Nellie Thompson Johnson. In February 1956 she married Lavern L. Smith at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, and they later divorced. She married Lloyd Babcock on June 16, 1967, in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Randy Smith of Rockwell City and John (Becky) Babcock of Corwith; four daughters, Cindy (Jerry) Hinders of Clarksville, Susan Prusia of Waterloo, Deb (Dennis) Gage of Garrison and Michelle Smith of Branson, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph (JoAnn ) Johnson of Charles City and Vic (Della) Johnson of Nashua; and a sister, Opal Martin of Greene.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Reinhardt and Lelia Rodamaker; a brother, Jesse Johnson; a son, Robin Smith; and an infant daughter, Jamie Smith.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, with private family burial at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
