Wayne Arnold Stanton, 91, of New Hampton, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.
He was born April 12, 1914, at Owatonna, Minn., son of Cleade and Fannie Housman Stanton. On Dec. 4, 1933, he married Opal Heiny in Austin, Minn. She died July 15, 2005.
Mr. Stanton farmed in the Austin, Minn., and Lyle, Minn., area, as well as in the New Hampton area. He also bought and resold cattle and hauled livestock for area producers.
Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor (Kenneth) Hollerud of Austin and Dorothy (Duane) Beyer of New Hampton; a son, Duane (Marilyn) of New Hampton; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; four brothers, Don (Olga) and Loren (Roberta), both of Austin, Jerry of Minneapolis and Norman (Susan) of New York; and two sisters, Holly Young of Eugene, Ore., and Lois (John) Huntting of Grandview, Wash.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Naurice and Dale.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, New Hampton, with burial in New Hampton Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
