NEW HAMPTON - Allen Gitch, 58, of New Hampton, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at his home.

He was born March 19, 1947, in Chickasaw County, son of Earl August and LaVera Marie Buhr Gitch.

He graduated from Fredericksburg High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era as a military policeman. Mr. Gitch was employed at Beatrice and AMPI in Fredericksburg and was also a security guard at the Nestle Company in Waverly. He also worked as a bartender in Fredericksburg.

Survived by his fiancee, Veronica McLaughlin of New Hampton; two sons, Adrian (Tonya) of Paris, Ky., and Sean of Brainerd, Minn.; a daughter, Dawn (Lee) Smith of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; his stepmother, Dora Gitch of Sumner; two brothers, Dennis (Terry) of Union, Ky., and Gary (Kathy) of Simi Valley, Calif.; and two sisters, Joyce (Curtis) Anderson of Waterville and Julie (Rick) Lampe of Ogden.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with private inurnment at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by Fae Stine American Legion Post 38. Friends may call from noon until service time Tuesday at the church. Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, is in charge of arrangements.
