Victor LeRoy Johnson, 80, of Nashua, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City.
He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Floyd, son of Ralph and Nellie Thompson Johnson. He married Della Finnegan June 26, 1951, at St. Boniface Church, Ionia.
He served as a gunner in the Army Air Corps and while serving in Europe became a prisoner of war. He attended Cedar Rapids Barber College and was a licensed barber for 50 years. He also worked for Hydrotile of Nashua and the Nashua School District as a bus driver.
Mr. Johnson was also a volunteer fireman for 22 years.
Survived by his wife; three sons, Gary (Joan), Daniel (Sherry) and Thomas (Shelly), all of Nashua; four daughters, Victoria (Tim) Anderson of Des Moines, Kimberly Johnson of Nashua, Julie (Shawn) Tibbitts of Charles City and Jamie (Todd) Wind of Edina, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Jack (JoAnn) of Charles City; and a sister, Opal Martin of Greene.
Preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Johnson; and three sisters, Wilma Reinhardt, Lelia Rodamaker and Edna Viola Babcock.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Nashua, with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery, Ionia, at a later date. Friends may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua.
