ALTA VISTA - Adella Bernadina Sinnwell, 90, of Alta Vista, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Colonial Manor, Elma.
She was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Alta Vista, daughter of Charles F. and Rose Hermsen Recker. She married Urban J. Sinnwell Sept. 20, 1937, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Alta Vista. He preceded her in death.
She worked for neighboring families doing house work and caring for children and also worked as a nurses aide for a year at the Waverly Hospital. Mrs. Sinnwell also farmed with her husband near Ionia, then south of Alta Vista and then southeast of Alta Vista.
In 1947 they purchased what was later called the Sinnwell Elevator in Alta Vista. After retiring in 1971 she and her husband developed the Old Well Mobile Home Park, Alta Vista.
Survived by two sons, Tim (Linda) Sinnwell of Eldorado Hills, Calif., and Andy (Karen) Sinnwell of Forest City; two daughters, Judy Sinnwell O.S.F. of Dubuque and Eva (Larry) Brooks of Baker City, Ore.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Recker of New Hampton; and a sister-in-law, Taisa Recker of Alta Vista.
Preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ambrose (Winnie) Recker, Ray (Evelyn) Recker, Leon Recker, Louis Recker and Edwin Recker in infancy; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nita (Elroy) Northness.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with inurnment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, both in Alta Vista. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, where there will be a 7 p.m. remembering service, and for an hour before services Saturday. Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the local charity of the donors choice.
