FREDERICKSBURG - Emma Ruth Hagedorn, 95, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Nov. 15, 1909, near Keystone, daughter of W. F. A. and Emma Albers Rabe. She married Albert P. Hagedorn June 4, 1931, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. He died March 21, 1976.

She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1927, after which she taught in the rural schools of Chickasaw County.

Survived by two sons, Wayne (Chris) of Fredericksburg and Roger (Linda) of Sumner; two daughters, Ruth Pries of Cedar Falls and Betty (Ray) Niewoehner of Fredericksburg; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Rabe of New Hampton; and two sisters, May Rogers of New Hampton and Minnie Zwanziger of Sumner.

Preceded in death by a brother, William Rabe; and five sisters, Bertha in infancy, Edna Schmidt, Louise Beck, Ella Frederickson and Alma Pietan.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peace United Church of Christ, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Fredericksburg. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Peace United Church of Christ or the Country Schoolhouse Project.
