FREDERICKSBURG - Kathleen Cleo Stephen Harnisch, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

Survivors include a son, Phillip of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Keith Stephen of Evansdale and Kent Stephen of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, on Sept. 15, 2000; a son, Benjamin; and a sister, Zoella Benz Pelley.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Fredericksburg; friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Harnisch attended Iowa State Teachers College, and taught school for nine years, retiring in 1958.
