Funeral services for Mayme Doubek will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, September 25, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. The Rev. Allen M. Schmitt will officiatin. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Conway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mayme, 88, of Protivin, died Sunday September 22, 1996, at the Cresco Care Center.

Mayme M. Doubek was born March 23, 1908 in Howard County near Protivin the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Hovarka) Komarek. She attended the rural school.

On June 9, 1925, she married James Doubek at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin.

Mayme was active in both civic and church activities. She received the Volunteer Award from the Governor in May of 1990.

She is survived by two daughters: Delores Dunt of Washburn and Lorraine Vopava of Protivin; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Mayme was preceded in death by her husband, James; one son, Eugene; one grandchild; one sister, Sophie Berka; and two brothers, Joseph and Adolphy Komarek.
