Ruth D. Bowman, 83, of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at Allen Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Fredericksburg, daughter of Fred and Pearl Flynn Salsbury. She married Lester William Bowman on March 26, 1944. They were later divorced.
Survived by a son, Fred Lester of Bothell, Wash.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild; five sisters, Dorothy Passmore of Charles City, Grace Rogers of Mason City, Phyllis Miller of Waverly, Eleanore Parr of Albuquerque, N.M., and Floy Hummel of Fremont, Calif.
Preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle Ackley, and Hazel, Beth and Carol Salsbury; and three brothers, Ralph and Donald Salsbury, and her twin, Ray Salsbury.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Parrot & Wood Family Funeral Care and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
